Meatloaf

A classic.

Prep: 10 minutes; Bake: 1 1/4 hours; Rest 5 minutes; Start to finish: 1 1/2 hours

MeatloafIngredients

  • 1.5 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped (or 1/8 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 each egg
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs, (or 3/4 cup oatmeal)
  • 1/2 cup ketchup

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Mix all ingredients, using 1/2 the ketchup. Spread mixture into ungreased loaf pan and spread remaining ketchup evenly on top.
  3. Bake, uncovered, 1 to 1 1/4 hours, or until meat thermometer reads 160 degrees.
  4. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
