Homemade Baked Tortilla Chips

It’s easy to make your own tortilla chips or strips. You can use either corn or flour tortillas, or mix it up.

Ingredients

  • 2 tortillas, any size
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt, Pepper

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Line a rimmed baking pan with foil.
  2. Stack 2 tortillas; slice in half. Then stack those 4 halves and cut crosswise into strips, as thick or as thin as you’d like.
  3. Place on the prepared baking sheet. Toss with 1 tablespoon olive oil; season with salt and pepper.
  4. Spread in a single layer and bake for 4 minutes. Turn the strips and bake another 4-5 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp. Watch carefully during this second 4 minutes as they can go from golden to burnt quickly.
  5. Let cool a bit.
