Cranberry Sauce

Simple! 3 ingredients and less than half an hour. Perfect for Thanksgiving turkey. Leftovers? Try Cranberry Sauce Cake.

Prep time: 5 minutes; Cook time: 15 minutes; Total time 20-25 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 cups (1 12-oz package) fresh or frozen cranberries

Directions

  1. Rinse cranberries in a colander.
  2. Put the water and sugar in a medium saucepan on high heat and bring to a boil.
  3. Stir to dissolve the sugar.
  4. Add the cranberries; return to a boil.
  5. Lower the heat and simmer for 10 minutes or until most of the cranberries have burst.
  6. Remove from heat and let cool completely at room temperature.
  7. Transfer to a bowl and chill in the refrigerator. (Cranberry sauce will continue to thicken as it cools.)
