Grilled Beets

Adding beets to the list of vegetables that are great on the grill.

Start to finish: 45 minutes

Ingredients

  • 6 beets, scrubbed and tops cut off
  • 2 T butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Preheat your grill to high.
    Coat one side of a large piece of aluminum foil with cooking spray.
  2. Place beets and butter on foil; season with salt and pepper.
  3. Wrap foil over beets to make a closed packet.
  4. Place packet directly on the grill.
  5. Cook 30 minutes, or until beets are tender.
  6. Allow to cool about 5 minutes before serving.

Note: Peeling the skin (post-grilling) is optional.
